I first lifted my drumsticks as a 6-year-old, and I want to walk people through my journey as a young person through to today where I still teach and play. I will share my journey in parallel with the development of Pipe Bands in New Zealand throughout this period.
I have had the privilege of playing in several bands at different levels and also of leading these groups. I was also the instigator of residential learning workshops and engaging overseas expertise to incrementally lift the standard of drumming in NZ.
My drumming experience when laid over my life experience has been a rich journey with one aspect supporting the other and vice versa. I am excited to have the opportunity to share with the U3A community.
