Mah Jong meets every Tuesday at 1.30pm at the Barrington Tennis Clubrooms in Garnett Avenue, everyone is welcome. We are a very friendly and sociable group. For those of us who don’t know what you get up to in your INTEREST GROUP meetings, enlighten them by sending your newsletter editor a rundown on – what you do – funny things that happen at your meetings – the GOSSIP – the jokes – and the serious stuff too. Membership: Is holding steady at 145/150. Subscriptions Name tags for unfinancial members have been removed from the box, we know that it has been a difficult year and understand that some have overlooked making payment, a reminder has been sent to all in this category. Knitting & Crochet. Thanks from Naida to all of the knitters and finishers, jerseys and blankets are in high demand and any spare wool from members and friends will help this worthwhile project. Our small group of knitters are knitting either Peggy squares or crocheting blankets which are in demand by welfare agencies, any old wool or jerseys suitable for unraveling are welcome to help the cause. If any members can donate wool, needles or have the time to Knit or Crochet (we need new knitters) please contact Naida 332-5029
Communications We appreciate that a few members do not have a computer and therefore may miss out on some communications; we suggest that you ask a friend who does have a computer to relay communications to you e.g. “Buddy System”. If you are able to organise this please let us know so that we can save the cost of mailing to you. Alternatively we hope to be able to supply printed copies of the current newsletter which will be available on the U3A table at the monthly meetings.
We have also instituted a "Dial-up" email list - for 'text only' information packages to those of us still on this service, to avoid clogging up their Internet connection. If you need this service contact Bryan - beaverslodge@xtra,co.nz.
